A hands-on experience of making two types of Wagashi inspired by cherry blossoms, led by a young artisan from a long-established Kyoto confectionery shop.

Stone Stamp Making & Seal Engraving Workshop
You can carve a single character of your choice into a sakura-pink stone seal. Your finished piece will be placed in a sakura-patterned yuzen pouch for you to take home.

Kawamasa Inbou
A seal shop located between the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle.
The shop produces and sells practical seals such as personal and corporate registered seals, bank seals, and rubber stamps, as well as artistic stone seals for signatures and creative use.
It provides opportunities for people in Japan and around the world to experience and engage with traditional Japanese seals.
Shell Lacquer Inlay Workshop
An experience in which you polish a coaster inlaid with shells to reveal its surface.
Enjoy the beautiful iridescent shimmer of natural mother-of-pearl.
As genuine lacquer (urushi) is not used, you can participate without concern for skin irritation.

Nao URUSHI KOBO
A workshop that preserves a comprehensive range of lacquerware techniques and undertakes the restoration and conservation of cultural properties at temples and shrines.
Through this workshop, participants can experience the joy of lacquer craftsmanship and become familiar with traditional methods.
